Love with a Holy Day

Today I made love with the season ...

I made a final "summer" harvest ...
I made space for my own elemental honor ...

I made magic in the kitchen ...

That's what I made today, and the day's not over yet ...

Win a Whimsy Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! This week I'm giving away one of my ACEO prints: Restoration

For me, this 29th day of October is a day steeped in restorative energies, the kind of the energies that we all can use, yet all too rarely indulge in. So it is that I offer a little restoration to you this day.

You know the drill - just leave a comment, any comment and you're entered in this week's drawing. The winner will be announced Thursday morning.

Two Humble Pleas

If you like my little works of art . . .

You can purchase this little print of mine from HOST - Helping Others Street Team. All the proceeds from items sold in their shop go to fellow Etsy creatives in need. You can learn more about the team at their blog.

Also, this ACEO set is an entry in the POEST Elements Challenge. If you like it, you can vote for it (#4) here. Or just click in the image! Voting ends October 31!

Thanks for considering my two humble pleas!

This -n- That (II)

Rain kept the boy home today, so we treated ourselves to a very late breakfast at the diner, and followed up with "city errands." These activities filled a good part of the day. Even so, I did a little painting, a lot of paper work,  made a large pan of homemade baked macaroni and cheese, and roasted some dandelion roots.

That's what I ... made today!

Love

I made a small personal batch of calendula ointment. Love for the skin.
I made love with peace.

I made rhubarb mead! Well, I bottled the stuff started last October. Fifteen bottles of liquid love, ready to imbibe in a month's time.

I made a nice yogurt dip with cilantro and Chinese leek pesto from the freezer to have with the boy's favorite Mexican crisps. We're enjoying them now with a bottle of hard apple cider from a local cider mill. There is whole wheat dough rising for the pizza that will become dinner. More love.

Life is sweet, no matter what they try to tell ya! Don't fear it, love it!

Love to Savor

I made a tomato salad to savor ... simple slices and some minced garlic, lightly salted and drizzled with olive oil ... a waning flavor of summer. I have a few more tomatoes ... green and semi-ripe, but the season is past and its flavors with it. These slices were simply divine on the toasted slices of Italian bread that accompanied the hearty vegetable stew that was dinner.

I made a little more little art too.

And the Boy came home with two jars of gel medium and a bottle of black gesso for me. He is worthy of my love. I'll keep him another day. :)

A Prayerful Memory Return

Earlier this month I read these words written by a fellow Etsy Blogger . . .

The day I read those words I was counting my own blessings and offering tangible thanks to spirit with cornmeal, tobacco, sage and seeds. Tangible expressions of gratitude to goddess for each blessing that I could name. I meant to share these words here way back then but somehow that gesture slipped by me. But I share them now.

Visit her blog to read them in full context. Visit her shop too - especially if you know any Moms-to-babies or Moms-to-bes to see lovely things like this:

An Effort

Today was one of those days filled with this and that and more and the other. You know what I'm talkin' about.

It was one of those days where I put forth grand effort ... where I stirred the cauldron ... where I started and continued ... where I felt much was accomplished ... yet was left with nothing tangible to show for it.

Only a feeling ... a KNOWing that effort was made. And that's cool with me.

Time

I made tea. Hot herbal tea, and lots of it! I sipped it all day long, indoors and out. I made a great omelette for brunch, with sauteed fennel, onion and pepper from the garden, and seriously sharp Vermont cheddar. I made big pot of - yep!--you guessed it: Garden soup. I made time to play with a recording program. I made time to watch football and I made time play with paints, gels, collage and such ...

... and now it's time to switch from hot tea to red wine and have a bowl of that hot garden soup!

Win a Whimsy Wednesday!

A gentle Forest Folk from the wilds of Vermont inspired this herbal blend ...

... I grind white sage and copal resin together in a sacred manner with my agate mortar and pestle. I burn a small bit most every day or carry a pinch in a medicine pouch. White sage cleanses and clears and copal resin is simply a mighty healer in all the realms that I work in. The verve and scent facilitate a calm focus that is rooted in love and peace and healing.

Enter to win this healing whimsy, a .25 ounce bag, by leaving a comment to this post. Any comment will do (though I'd love to hear a healing inspiration!).

Congratulations to Mannie Vincent of MVincent - you won this week's whimsy!

Thanks to all to entered - now go give Mannie some love!

A Simple Realization

Back in early September I painted this watercolor out on the deck as I witnessed the bees and birds enjoy the abundance of love that the blooming sunflowers offered. It was just one of those generous summer days, ya know?

I love this painting and have wanted mat and frame it for my own little hut. Yet I also wanted to share the joy, the peace and the love that it gave me.  I toyed with cutting it up into ACEO size pieces so that I could share this verve and keep a snippet for myself. This morning I woke with the realization that I could shrink and print the image and share it intact.

As it is, so shall it be. The image you see here is now one in an edition of six. Simple.

Continuation & Completion

The PEACE meditation continued in black & white until complete . . .

That's what I made today. That and another amazing garden stew with carrots, celery, onion, garlic, oregano, tomato, broccoli and the very last of the beans.

Meditation in Peace

This is one in a series of three images created as meditation. Most, if not all, of my artistic creations are forms of meditation. This doodle, and the two to follow, were made manifest with mind and heart rooted in a place of peace.

A Discovery at my Mail Box & Peace

A stroll to the mailbox presented me with a package from The Homespun Raven. I knew I had a couple Etsy purchases I'm waiting on, but that name drew a blank. Once in the hut I opened it and instantly remembered that I had won this beautiful wall plaque by playing 31 Days of Halloween at Mrs. B's blog. Isn't is just awesome? I love it! I really, really love it!
If you're not playing  31 Days of Halloween , shame on you!

As for me ... I made more meditations of peace in the form of doodles ...
